The UT Math Assessment is exclusively used for placement in calculus courses taken at The University of Texas at Austin. Students are permitted to take the UTMA twice, and there is a required 24-hour waiting period to retake the UTMA. After the Spring 24 semester, any UTMA scores will expire, are no longer valid, and must be retaken for any following semester. UTMA scores obtained in the Spring 24 semester are valid only for the Spring 24 semester. ![]() UTMA scores obtained in Summer 23 are valid through the Fall 23 and Spring 24 semesters. UTMA scores obtained prior to Apare no longer valid and must be retaken. Calculators are not permitted and results are available in five hours. This assessment is proctored via video, must be taken in one sitting and will function on most devices.
